JO Stick Training

Hi All. One of the things that we practice here at the Buntingford Karate Club is “stick work”. I am rather an adept at this but we have someone in our club who is very good at putting over a Jo lesson, and that’s my cousin CJ.

CJ has shown his skills at both of our 2014 and 2016 Buntingford Carnival displays (check them out on this website) and he will be carrying out another class at the end of February.

To do stick training you do not necessarily need to buy a Jo stick (a Jo is about four feet long) as a simple broom handle will do for a beginner. This is because they are lighter than a Jo which is made out of either red or white Japanese Oak.

So…go buy a broomstick and get ready for CJ’s lesson!
