Alastair gets his 1st Kyu

Hi All.

The Buntingford Karate Club held another grading on Tuesday night, this time for Alastair.

Alastair came to us as a 2nd kyu brown belt from another club. He left his old club because the instructor told him not to ask questions “just do what I tell you”. Alastair’s father, quite rightly, was appalled by this (as was I when he told me). This is not the first time that I have heard of a Sensei acting like a prima donna, and, quite frankly, it really annoys and disgusts me. However, suffice it to say, Alastair and his father came along to view the Buntingford Karate Club, liked what they saw and heard, and the rest is history.

Alastair has put a lot of work and effort into coming up to our 1st kyu standard and did a very good grading and impressed us with his control and balance.
